Introduction

IFS Pro offers quick and easy modeling capability by use of templates and pseudo arbitrary design capabilities. IFS Pro is a full order Boundary Element Field Solver that combines the ease-of-use of a well designed graphic interface with the accuracy of a  boundary element electromagnetic field solver and SPICE simulator.  The user community consists of engineers and designers with high speed analog simulation requirements involved in PCB, cable, connector, VLSI, and related interconnect media design.

Featuring complete modularity and now offering an unprecedented Stack Up utility complete with a full order Boundary Element Field Solver. The user can add other modules as they need them, or simply take advantage of EZStack's quick stack up creation and EM Report which includes losses!

Overview

In broadband digital systems today, the most traditional test techniques are:

  • Time Domain Reflectometry, TDR, which yields a map of impedance variations along the length of an interconnect or system.
  • Time Domain Transmission response, TDT, which yields the delay through the system, risetime degredation and bandwidth from the pulse edge risetime
  • Crosstalk (XT) is based on time domain voltage measurements on the sending (or near) end, near end Crosstalk (NEXT), and at the far (or receiving) end, Far End Crosstalk (FEXT) of a quiet line

With the escalation of data rates beyond 1Gb/second, the microwave frequency domain characteristics of the interconnect system become increasingly important. The traditional microwave frequency dependent "port" measurements are Scattering ("S") parameters, Impedance ("Z") parameters, and Transmission ("T," or "ABCD") parameters.

IFS Pro EZStack is comprised of a rapid stack up user interface utility and a Boundary Element Field Solver which produces a rich EM report. Report Includes: L,R,C,G,Zodd,Zeven,Zdiff,Crosstalk Coeff,Td(vel) and includes four report views: Simplified, Detailed Matrices, Zo Tri-State, xtk-xfx.

Note: Requires JAVA runtime engine.
